There are people of all ages who participate and contribute to the well-being of the whole village. Traditionally, the elder women are the wise ones, repositories of experience and knowledge, each in her own area of expertise. The village recognizes these older women as 'crones' or wise women. My specialty is sex and sensuality. I am committed to increasing and sharing knowledge and wisdom within the community about the role of healthy (non-dysfunctional) sex. The medical community is currently trying to pursuade us that 43% of all American women are sexually dysfunctional! I don't buy it! I believe they don't know what they are talking about - either what is 'functional' for women or the need for 'medical' interventions! What if women, particularly those of us who started women's sexual revolution in the 70s, proactively took responsibility: for their own pleasure, for expanding their sexual vitality into maturity, for defining healthy sexuality for women, as different from men (because male sexuality REALLY IS different from ours!), for pushing on the limits of pleasure and demanded ecstasy as their birth right! So I picked up a Ph.D. in Adult Learning from Oregon State University. In an effort to keep on learning and expanding my own limits, I recently received certification as a Master Clinical Hypotherapist and then as a Reiki Master. I believe both these skills have significantly increased my effectiveness working with clients who want to increase their capacity for pleasure and success in their lives. I truly believe that the very experience of sensual ecstasy is spiritual - we will not feel it if we are not willing to be intimate and open and authentic. To me, ecstasy is sacred sex because everyone I know who has ever experienced it, also speaks of the presence of Spirit. I have explored every reasonable path I could find in pursuit of knowledge about pleasure enhancement. I began painting on silk as a hobby to share with my daughter many years ago. Since then, it has become a creative passion in my life.
